Laos found the crude oil mine !
(KPL) Laos found the crude oil mine in Phin district of Savannakhet province when the England Survey Company disclosed primary information on high potential of oil source in Savannakhet province, amid the oscillatory oil price in the world market, said an official of Energy and Mine Office, Savannakhet province.
Last years, Laos faced trade deficit was attributed to the import of oil because Laos could not refine or produce the fuels for public service to spur the economic growth.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has recently reported that most of oil domestic consumption was imported by 100%. So when the oil price increased in the world market, of course it affected all sectors in country that Lao people can not avoid this problem...more info>>
The latest news, the Energy and Mine Office of Savannakhet province told KPL news yesterday that it found the oil mine in Phin district of Savannakhet province, after the Lao Government in collaboration with an England Company carried out a survey of oil resource.
Having found primary information on the oil resource in Phin district was sparking the Lao government’s attempt has high hopefulness to reduce the import of oil.
Mr Phonkeo Phoutthapayalad, Head of Energy and Mine Office, Savannakhet province disclosed that England survey company found the oil resources in Savannakhet province, after it conducted its survey in July 2008. But now the survey was stopped because of rainy season and one more reason England Survey Company still waited the drilling equipment that will import from Africa.
The England Survey Company has so far imported the drilling equipment from Vietnam, but it can not use this land and it suitable for the sea.
