Almost 1,000 people died because of AIDS in Laos

960 have died of AIDS since 1990
(KPL) Since 1990 over 3,300 people have been infected with HIV/AIDS and another 960 have died of the disease, said Deputy Head of theLabour Management Department, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr. Phongsaysack Inthalath.
?If compared to neighbouring countries, HIV/AIDS infection in Laos is less severe but the infection rate among migrant workers is high,? said Mr. Phongsaysack.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare held a training course on prevention against HIV/AIDS for its officials in Vientiane on February 18.
The aim of the training was to disseminate the HIV/AIDS infection and outbreak among migrant workers.
